It’s time to turn on your trend radar! The hologram fad has really been hitting the streets these past few months, most popularly in the form of handbags. You can make this cute, holographic purse in less than 30 minutes by following this tutorial. It’s fancy as fuck and literally goes with everything. You’ll be sure to turn some heads.
First, you’ll need to get some stuff together:
Before you do anything else, peel off the piece of velcro on the pouch part of the envelope, not the flap. You will be putting a piece of vinyl on this part, and it won’t work if the velcro is there.
Turn your vinyl over to the non-pretty side, and trace the envelope onto it. Open it up so you can trace out a single piece that will cover the flap down to the back of the pouch. When cutting, I recommend that you cut each piece a bit bigger than what you actually traced.
Next trace the front of the pouch, along with the 3 side pieces. You should end up with 5 total pieces that you’ve traced and cut out.
Start peeling! The shiny vinyl should peel away from the backing, and will be just like a sticker. Carefully lay the pieces down onto your envelope. Normally it’s very difficult to match the sticker up perfectly with the sides of the envelope, hence why cutting it slightly larger helps to cover up unevenness. Trim away any excess for a cleaner look.
After sticking each piece onto the envelope, you’ll want to use a credit card to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles. Once you’ve got all the pieces on there, stick the piece of velcro back where it was. Now you’ve got an out of this world, glimmery holographic clutch!
Make one and show it off!
